Product Description

The SepaFlash™ C18 TLC and HPTLC Plates with glass backing are optimized for reversed-phase thin-layer chromatography (TLC), providing sharp separations, high reproducibility, and broad solvent compatibility. Featuring C18-modified silica, these plates ensure strong retention of non-polar compounds, making them ideal for pharmaceutical, bioanalytical, environmental, and forensic applications.

The TLC plate utilizes a hybrid binder (gypsum/organic) for strong adhesion and routine separations, while the HPTLC plate features a hard organic binder and a thinner layer (150 µm) for high-resolution separations and enhanced sensitivity. Both plates include a fluorescent indicator (F254) for efficient UV detection (254 nm).

Designed for versatility and precision, SepaFlash™ C18 TLC and HPTLC plates offer durable performance, fast separations, and consistent results.

Key Features

  • C18-Bonded Silica – Optimized for reversed-phase chromatography
  • Glass Backing – Rigid, solvent-resistant, and chemically stable
  • Broad Solvent Compatibility – Supports aqueous-organic mobile phases
  • Optimized for Precision
    • TLC: General-purpose reversed-phase separations
    • HPTLC: Thinner layer (150 µm) for sharper peaks and quantitative analysis
  • Versatile Binder System
    • TLC (Hybrid Binder – Gypsum/Organic): Routine separations, broad solvent compatibility
    • HPTLC (Hard Organic Binder): High resolution, minimal background noise

Visualization Techniques

Compatible with virtually all visualization reagents, including universal and selective staining techniques, including iodine vapor, phosphomolybdic acid (PMA), p-anisaldehyde, ninhydrin, and potassium permanganate (KMnO₄).

Acceptable Solvents

Compatible with aqueous-organic mobile phases, including water, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and buffered systems, while resisting solvent degradation. Optimized for reversed-phase chromatography, they ensure efficient separations with polar eluents, though purely non-polar solvents are not recommended.
